National Board of Revenue member Dr. Mohd. Al Amin Pramanik said that VAT is the best tool for internal revenue collection. He said that the issue of making VAT management online and structural reforms has been given importance in order to develop a fair tax culture and a business-friendly VAT system. 


He made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar held following the inauguration of VAT Day and VAT Week on Wednesday (December 10) morning. 

Al Amin Pramanik said, Revenue is the driving force of the country's development. The respected citizens of the country play a role in collecting revenue by paying VAT. They play a role in the development of the country. The role of VAT paying businessmen is very important. For the needs of the country, for our needs and for the needs of the future, we all need to come forward to pay VAT. At this time, he requested everyone to make the slogan of VAT Day a success.

The president of the event, Commissioner of Rangpur Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Mr. Arun Kumar Biswas, said, "Revenue is one of the driving forces of development. There is no alternative to modernizing the VAT system to involve all stakeholders in revenue collection and make the nation economically prosperous. Now is the time to dream anew, break the old, individualistic stagnation and create a good governance, integrity, and just society and environment." 

A seminar was organized at the Agami Chashi Conference Hall in Kamal Kachna of the city with the slogan 'We will build a country with VAT, a Bangladesh without discrimination'. National Board of Revenue member Dr. Mohd. Al Amin Pramanik spoke as the chief guest at the seminar.

Special guests delivered speeches - Tax Commissioner of Tax Region-Rangpur Md. Abu Said Sohel, President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries Emdadul Hossain, President of Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Golam Zakaria Pintu, Director and Writer Rana Masud. The seminar was presided over by Commissioner of Rangpur Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Mr. Arun Kumar Biswas. The seminar was attended by Additional Commissioner of Rangpur Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Mr. Mohibbur Rahman Bhuiyan, along with representatives of various classes of businessmen under this commissionerate, owners of various organizations, officers and employees of this department at all levels and members of electronic and print media.
