25May Kurigram: International Obstetric Fistula Eradication Day was celebrated in Kurigram on May 25. At the event, Kurigram Civil Surgeon Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas inaugurated the photo booth on the obstetric fistula program at the beginning of the day.
Present at the event were UNFPA Bangladesh Program Analyst Shamsuzzaman, Dr. Somashree Coordinator - Reproductive Health Services and Mahatab Liton - Manager Lamb.
After the inauguration of the photography exhibition, nurses and midwives took a procession around Kurigram town.
It is worth mentioning that the day was also celebrated yesterday at the initiative of Fulbari Upazila Health Complex. And a month-long campaign to identify fistula patients is ongoing.
After identifying fistula patients, they will be provided with medical services.
The United Nations Population Fund Bangladesh and Global Affairs of Canada are actively supporting the celebration of the day.
