Published: 05 June 2025 :- The district's main Eid congregation will be held at the Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah ground at 8 am. The district administration has completed all preparations for the main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha. Maulana Bayozid Hossain, the khatib of Rangpur Keramatia Jame Mosque, will lead the prayers.
If the weather is bad on Eid day, the main congregation will be held in two stages at Rangpur District Model Mosque. The first congregation will be held at 8 am and the second congregation at 9 am. In addition, Eid congregations will be held at Kisamat Manzai Eidgah at 9 am, RCCI School Ground at 8 am, West Nilkanth Eidgah Ground at 8:30 am, Police Lines School Ground at 7 am, and Keramatia Ground at 8 am, in line with the timing of the main congregation of Eid-ul-Azhar, in other Eidgahs and mosques of the district.
The Eidgah is being cleaned and decorated for the Eid congregation. On the other hand, extensive preparations have been made in all aspects, including law and order, to ensure smooth Eid prayers.
On the spot, it was seen that the work of hanging a canopy is going on in the entire field at the Collectorate Eidgah, known as the National Eidgah of Rangpur. The cleaning workers of the City Corporation are cleaning the field. The construction of 3 gates, including the main gate of the field, has been completed. Like the National Eidgah, preparations for the congregation are going on in full swing at various major Eidgahs in Rangpur city and district.
Rangpur City Corporation's cleaning officer Mizanur Rahman Mizu said, "A canopy has been put up to protect against the sun and rain. Cleaning work is underway. So far, the weather is good. If it rains, Eid-ul-Azha prayers will be offered at the model mosque."
Police will be present at important Eid congregations in the district and city, including increasing plainclothes intelligence surveillance, to ensure smooth Eid congregations. Law enforcement officials said police patrols and check posts have been increased on major roads. There is also an army patrol team along with the police.
