District Council scholarship provision in Nilphamari

 


Nilphamari, August 14, 2025 : Scholarships have been provided to students under the initiative of Nilphamari District Council. 

Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Shahidul Islam inaugurated the scholarship distribution program among 70 people at the Zilla Parishad auditorium on Thursday. 

Under this program, 570 people will be provided with educational scholarships.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Commissioner Md. Shahidul Islam said, "We have to dream big. We have to move forward with our dreams. Then it is possible to reach our destination. The misuse of mobile phones is harming students."

The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman and addressed by District Council Chief Executive Officer Dipankar Roy, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jyoti Bikash Chandra, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Saiful Islam, Acting President of Nilphamari Press Club Atiar Rahman, General Secretary Nur Alam and others.

Dipankar Roy, Chief Executive Officer of the District Council, said that 570 students, including 171 from various universities, 91 from higher secondary schools and 308 from secondary schools, will be provided with scholarships. The program was inaugurated today with the distribution of scholarships to 70 students. Tk 3.7 million will be distributed among these students.

District Council Administrator and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman said that one-time scholarships of 10,000 are being given to university students and 5,000 each to meritorious students of higher secondary and secondary levels.

At the same event, five July warriors were given 50,000 taka each and a hearing-impaired person was given 20,000 taka to purchase a hearing aid.
