Dhaka, August 18, 2025 : The Teesta Zone game of the National Kabaddi Championship organized on the occasion of the Youth Festival has ended with a thrilling final.
Nilphamari district won the men's division and host Rangpur won the women's division. The players' great performance throughout the competition, including the final match, impressed the audience.
In the men's final, Nilphamari emerged as the champions after defeating Lalmonirhat 49-35 in a highly competitive match. The match was fiercely contested from the start, but in the end, Nilphamari's players won the match with their experience and strategy.
Earlier, Nilphamari advanced to the finals after a tough battle with hosts Rangpur by 44-41 points in the semi-finals. On the other hand, Lalmonirhat easily defeated Kurigram by 51-24 points in the second semi-final to secure a place in the finals.
In the women's division final, Rangpur District emerged champions after defeating host Thakurgaon by a huge margin of 53-11 points. Thakurgaon players could not put up any resistance against the strong Rangpur team.
Rangpur also showed their dominance in the semi-finals. Yesterday, they defeated Dinajpur by 54-19 points to reach the final. In the other semi-final, Thakurgaon defeated Nilphamari by 36-26 points to secure a ticket to the final.
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Rabiul Faisal handed over the prizes to the winners at the end of the final today. Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation General Secretary SM Newaz Sohag, Treasurer Monir Hossain and member Badsha Mia were present at the time.
After the successful completion of the Padma and Teesta zone games, the next phase of the National Kabaddi Championship, the Brahmaputra zone games, will be held in Tangail district.
