Rangpur Published: 10 October 2025 :

BNP Joint Secretary General Habib-un Nabi Khan Sohel said that a class of people have raised questions about the BNP symbol, which is unreasonable. Because they can apply for their symbol, whether the Election Commission will accept it or not is their business. There is nothing to say about that. However, the symbol with which elections have been held for ages. They are opposing that symbol, and people are not seeing it well.

He said this in response to questions from reporters before attending the memorial meeting of Rangpur District BNP member secretary Anisur Rahman Laku at the Rangpur Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Friday (October 10) afternoon.

Regarding the return of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, Habib-un Nabi Khan Sohel said, "He recently openly discussed when he will return to the country and whether he will participate in the elections. Even so, I will say that he will return to the country on time and participate as a candidate in the next elections."

Regarding party nominations, he said, BNP is a popular party. There is not just one candidate in a seat, but many candidates. There are 8-10 candidates in almost all seats. Therefore, the party will nominate only those who can take care of the people's facilities and whom it considers worthy.
