8-day long divisional book fair inaugurated in Rangpur
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association, under the management of the Divisional Commissioner's Office and organized by the National Book Center, the 8-day long book fair in Rangpur began on Tuesday afternoon at the Public Library Ground. The divisional book fair was inaugurated by Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Shahidul Islam, ndc. After the opening ceremony by cutting the ribbon, blowing up balloons and releasing pigeons, the discussion meeting was chaired by the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Mohammad Enamul Ahsan. Range DIG Aminul Islam, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Majid Ali, Local Government Divisional Director Md. Abu Zafar, Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Limon Roy, National Book Center Director Afsana Begum, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Mosa. Rabeya Basri, Rangpur Additional Divisional Commissioner Abdul Motaleb Sarkar, poet and playwright Zahid Hossain, among others. The speakers at the meeting invited readers to come to the book fair. They also urged children to read books. They urged parents to give books as gifts instead of handing over mobile games to children. 83 stalls have been set up at the Ebor Divisional Book Fair. The fair will continue until November 25. The fair premises will be open to everyone from 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm every day. There will also be cultural programs every evening. Later, the guests visited various stalls of the fair.
