Speaking as the chief guest of the civic rally, Professor Md. Anwar Sadat said, rivers across the country are in existential crisis due to encroachment and pollution. It is not possible to save rivers without political and administrative commitment. Saving rivers should now be a part of national security. If rivers are saved, agriculture will be saved, nature will be saved, and the country will be saved. In his speech as the chief negotiator, Dr. Muhammad Anwar Hossain said that agriculture, environment and people's livelihoods are under threat as the rivers in the northern region dry up. If the river restoration process is not strengthened immediately, future generations will face a terrible crisis.
Panchagarh District President A.K.M. Fazle Noor Bachchu said, "To protect the rivers of Panchagarh, the local people must unite. Freeing the rivers from encroachment, controlling pollution, and raising awareness - these are our three main goals."
The rally emphasized coordinated initiatives at the national and local levels to protect the river, strict monitoring, and increasing public awareness. In the final part, a call was made for a collective role for everyone to keep the river free from encroachment and pollution.
