2 worshippers die in Rangpur divisional Ijtema, funeral held on the ground

Two devotees have died so far due to age and cold-related problems at the Rangpur divisional Ijtema ground. Police have confirmed that they died of natural causes. 

Engineer Abul Hossain, the in-charge of Hall No. 6 of the Ijtema ground, confirmed the matter on Thursday (December 11) afternoon.

The Rangpur Divisional Ijtema has started with several lakh devotees in the Amashu Kukrul area of ​​Ward No. 4 of Rangpur city. Two devotees died till noon on the first day of the Ijtema. The deceased devotees are - Saidur Rahman of Pirganj Police Station of Rangpur district. The other is Tara Mia of Tangail district. Tara Mia, a devotee of Tangail district, came to Rangpur after a 40-day hiatus to participate in the Ijtema. The funeral of the deceased will be held at the Ijtema Maidan after Zuhr.

Engineer Abul Hossain, the in-charge of Halka No. 6 at the Ijtema ground, said that two worshippers have died at the Ijtema ground due to age and cold till noon today. Their bodies will be handed over to their families after the funeral prayers at the ground after Zohr. Rangpur Metropolitan Pashuram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Maidul Islam said, "Two devotees died due to respiratory problems at the Ijtema ground. Both of them died naturally. Their bodies will be handed over to their families after the Zohar funeral."
