 Artists' rally held in Rangpur demanding increase in salary of radio artists



Own correspondent: Bangladesh Betar Rangpur and Thakurgaon Betar's music artists, composers, lyricists, dancers, reciters, presenters, instrumentalists, and theater artists have been held demanding increase in salary, grade-based programs, and recording studios.

The artists' rally was held at the city's District Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday (December 13) afternoon, organized by the Rangpur Sangeet Shilpi Kalyan Foundation and in collaboration with the Cultural Unity Council. Bangladesh Betar Deputy General Manager Sayed Mostafa Kamal, Bangladesh Betar Rangpur Regional Director Abdur Rahim, Sangskriti Oikya Parishad Rangpur President Chowdhury Mahmudun Nabi Dollar, District Cultural Officer KM Arifuzzaman, former student leader VP Alauddin, cultural personality Advocate Jobaidul Islam Bullet, and District Sujon President Fakhrul Anam Benju spoke as the chief guests in the discussion of the artist gathering. Khandaker Mohammad Ali Samrat, President of Rangpur Sangshripi Kalyan Foundation, presided over the meeting. Maksudar Rahman Mukul, General Secretary of Rangpur Sangshripi Kalyan Foundation, delivered the welcome address. In the discussion, a memorandum was submitted to Bangladesh Betar demanding an increase in the honorarium of musicians, composers, lyricists, dancers, reciters, presenters, instrumentalists, and theater artists, as well as an increase in programs according to grades and recording studios. Later, a pleasant cultural program was held on stage with the performances of the radio artists.

Earlier, as part of the artist gathering, musicians, composers, lyricists, dancers, reciters, presenters, instrumentalists, and playwrights of Bangladesh Betar Rangpur and Thakurgaon Betar raised their voices about discrimination and deprivation in the morning. Musicians, composers, lyricists, dancers, reciters, presenters, instrumentalists, playwrights, and writers of Bangladesh Betar Rangpur and Thakurgaon Betar participated in the artist gathering.
