BNP holds prayer mahfil in Rangpur seeking forgiveness for Khaleda Zia's soul

Rangpur District Metropolitan BNP and its affiliates held a prayer meeting seeking the eternal peace of former three-time Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. 

The prayer meeting was held at the party office at the Grand Hotel in the city after Zohar on Tuesday (December 30). An emotional atmosphere was created there. Everyone prayed for the eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia.

Present at the event were Rangpur Metropolitan BNP convener Shamsuzzaman Samu, District BNP convener Saiful Islam, Metropolitan BNP member secretary Advocate Mahfuz Un-Nabi-Don, Kaunia Upazila BNP president Emdadul Haque Bhorsa, and leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations. 

Earlier, when the news of Begum Khaleda Zia's death spread, leaders and activists began gathering in front of the party office since morning. Everyone wore black badges. At this time, the leaders and activists hugged each other and broke down in tears. 

Meanwhile, the Rangpur Metropolitan Jubo Dal held a prayer mahfil seeking the eternal peace of former three-time Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The prayer was organized at the party office after Zohar. The prayer was conducted by the in-charge office secretary of the Metropolitan Jubo Dal, Tariqul Islam Tarek. Rangpur Metropolitan Jubo Dal convener Nurunnabi Chowdhury Milon, member secretary Atiqul Islam Lelin, senior joint convener Zahir Alam Nayan and leaders of all units of the Metropolitan Jubo Dal were present at the time.

Note: The country's first female Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia died at 6 am today, Tuesday, while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. She was 80 years old. Begum Khaleda Zia had been suffering from various diseases for a long time. She was last admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital on November 23.
