Government on highest alert to maintain law and order situation: Foreign Affairs Advisor
Rangpur, December 6, 2025: Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain has said that the government is on the highest alert to maintain good law and order situation in the country.
He said, "Although there were some challenges in the beginning, the situation is now under control. The police force has also been able to organize itself. The upcoming national election is a big test for the law enforcement agencies."
He said these things at a meeting with government officials at the conference room of the Rangpur Deputy Commissioner's office on Saturday.
Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain said that Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus said that this election will be a 'model election'. Law enforcement agencies must be vigilant to ensure that the election is peaceful.
He said that education and health are the two sectors that need the most attention. To resolve the doctor-nurse crisis, 3,500 nurses and 3,000 doctors have been appointed in a short period of time.
Regarding potato exports, he said, "There are very few countries in the world that regularly import potatoes. Unless there are special circumstances, the scope for export is also limited."
Regarding the export of human resources abroad, the advisor said, "Due to lack of skills, the country's workers receive low salaries abroad. There is a huge demand for the nursing profession abroad. The country will benefit if we can create a skilled workforce."
He also praised the small breed of indigenous beef raised in Rangpur and advised the Department of Livestock to take initiatives for its commercial production.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, was addressed by Superintendent of Police Mohammad Marufat Hussain and officials from various departments.
The Foreign Affairs Adviser is visiting important places in Rangpur on a four-day visit. He is scheduled to visit Rangpur Cadet College this afternoon. He will return to Dhaka from Syedpur after exchanging views with teachers and students at Magura High School in Kishoreganj on Sunday.
