Moulvibazar and Rangpur emerge champions in National Kabaddi District Championship
Dhaka, December 28, 2025 : The 'Youth Festival-2025' National Kabaddi District Championship concluded amidst the enthusiasm of youth and fierce competition.
Moulvibazar won the men's title and Rangpur won the women's title in a thrilling final held at the Shaheed Captain M. Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
In the men's final, Moulvibazar defeated Khulna by 27-19 points. Although Khulna's Kashem made a great 'super raid' at the beginning of the match, they could not maintain that dominance. In the midst of an even fight between the two teams, Moulvibazar took control of the match by 'all out' Khulna once. Moulvibazar, who were leading by 13-6 points in the first half, maintained that lead in the second half and secured the victory.
Brahmanbaria faced Rangpur in the women's final. Playing aggressively from the start, Rangpur was leading by 23-15 points at the end of the first half. In the second half, Brahmanbaria tried to turn the match around and created excitement, but in the end, Rangpur's girls left the field with a 41-35 point victory.
After the final, National Sports Council Director (Sports) Mohammad Aminul Ehsan handed over the prizes to the winners. Shahidul Alam Ratan, CEO of Capital Kids Cricket London, and SM Newaz Sohag, General Secretary of the Kabaddi Federation, were present as special guests.
Saidul Islam (Moulvibazar) and Antara (Rangpur) were named the best players of the championship. Abul Kashem (Khulna) and Nahida (Brahmanbaria) were named the best raiders, and Tarek (Moulvibazar) and Rozina (Rangpur) were named the best defenders.
The tournament began with the 'Padma Zone' game in Bogra on July 29. The zonal phase was held by dividing the entire country into 8 zones (Padma, Teesta, Brahmaputra, Karnaphuli, Rupsa, Dhansiri, Surma and Madhumati).
The four teams that advanced to the semi-finals from the inter-district phase organized with the zonal champions will now compete with the services teams in the main national championship.
