However, even though the weather has improved in the meantime, there will be some deterioration in the weather again in the future. The laborers and hard-working people are suffering the most in the severe winter. Dense fog and icy winds have almost brought their lives to a standstill. The condition of most of the people in the villages and char areas has been devastated by the harsh winter. Especially in the char areas, it has become difficult to work in this dense fog to grow potatoes and vegetables. However, in case of emergency, they are somehow able to complete their work, especially from 11 am to 2 pm. Autorickshaw driver Ramzan Mia, who came to Rangpur city, said, "For the past three or four days, there has been severe cold in Rangpur, with no passengers or work. Dense fog falls like rain at night. As a result, people are not leaving their homes unless absolutely necessary. Due to which, families with low incomes are having to live with great difficulty."

Abdur Rahim, a paan shopkeeper in the Kot area of Kachari Bazar, said that there are fewer people due to the extreme cold. Moreover, there is less case work in the court in December, and added to that, the severe cold has resulted in low sales as there are fewer people in the city. Meanwhile, children and the elderly are suffering from various diseases including cold, sneezing, coughing, and breathing difficulties due to the bitter cold. The children's ward of Rangpur Medical College Hospital has several times more patients admitted. As a result, hundreds of people from the northern districts are coming to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for treatment every day.

Rangpur Medical College (RMC) Hospital Director Brigadier General Ashikur Rahman said that the severity of the winter increases the number of children and adults suffering from various diseases including cold, sneezing, coughing, and breathing difficulties. Due to which hundreds of people from the northern districts are coming to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for treatment every day. As a result, the pressure on the children's ward is increasing. Special measures have been taken for this.

Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan said that distribution of winter clothes to the poor and cold-stricken people in the district continues. 20,000 blankets have already been distributed in Rangpur district. This program is being strengthened as the cold season increases. More winter clothes will be distributed in phases. However, along with the government, private initiatives also need to stand by the cold-stricken people. Everyone's cooperation is needed to prevent the cold-stricken people from getting sick.
