2 members of organized question-leaking ring arrested in Rangpur
Rangpur, January 8, 2026 : The Metropolitan Detective Branch of Rangpur Metropolitan Police has arrested two members of an organized gang that leaked question papers.
During this time, the police recovered three mobile phones and sophisticated digital devices from them.
The arrested are Md. Golam Kibria, son of Md. Shariful Islam, and Suman Chandra, son of Gopal Chandra, of Kafrikhal village in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur.
They were arrested at Captain Backology intersection, adjacent to Police Lines in Rangpur city, around noon on Thursday.
Deputy Police Commissioner of the Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Police, Sanatan Chakraborty, shared this information with journalists at a press briefing held at his office this afternoon.
Sanatan Chakraborty said that an organized group was trying to cheat in the primary teacher recruitment exam through modern information technology. The two were arrested based on such secret information.
Digital devices and mobile phones have been seized from them.
He also said that during initial interrogation, they admitted that they were there to supply digital devices.
