Dhaka, January 22, 2026 : Bangladesh team has secured the Super Six of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifiers with a hat-trick win thanks to spinner Sanjida Akhtar Meghla's bowling prowess.

Bangladesh women's team defeated Namibia by a huge margin of 80 runs in their third match in Group 'A' today. In their first two matches, Bangladesh defeated USA by 21 runs and Papua New Guinea by 30 runs respectively. As a result, Bangladesh secured the Super Six by finishing at the top of the table with 6 points from 3 wins after playing 3 matches.

Bangladesh lost the toss against Namibia in Kirtipur and elected to bat first, losing a wicket in the first over. Opener Juairia Ferdous returned empty-handed.

Then another opener Dilara Akhtar and Sharmin Akhtar put on a 33-run partnership. They took the team to 44 runs. Dilara scored 25 runs off 17 balls and Sharmin scored 13 runs.

Captain Nigara Sultana and Sobhana Mostari also tried to build a big partnership in the middle order. They were separated after adding 46 runs. Nigara scored 21 runs with 3 fours and Sobhana scored 27 runs with 1 four and 2 sixes.

In the end, Swarna Akhtar scored 23 runs off 18 balls and Rabeya Khan scored 11 runs not out off 5 balls, helping Bangladesh to amass 144 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing 145 runs, Namibia were bowled out for 64 runs in 17.5 overs by Bangladesh bowlers. Only two batsmen reached double figures for the team. Captain Sune Wittmann scored the highest score of 19 runs.

Meghla took 4 wickets for 14 runs, Rabeya Khan and Fahima Khatun took 3 wickets each. Meghla was named Man of the Match.

Bangladesh will play against Ireland in their fourth and final match of the group stage on January 24.
