BNP will give top priority to implementing Teesta Master Plan if it gets people's mandate: Dulu

Lalmonirhat, January 5, 2026 : BNP National Executive Committee Organizing Secretary Principal Asadul Habib Dulu said, "If we can come to power with the people's mandate, we will start implementing the Teesta Master Plan with the highest priority to protect the lives and livelihoods of the people of the northern region."

He said this at a view-exchange meeting organized with local and national journalists at the temporary office of the district BNP on Monday afternoon.

Ahsan Habib Dulu said, "The Teesta River is not just a river, it is closely linked to the lives and livelihoods of nearly 20 million people in the northern region. Unless fair distribution of Teesta water and river-centric development are ensured, it is not possible to alleviate the long-standing suffering of the people of this region."

He said, "If the BNP is able to form the government, InshaAllah, all efforts will be deployed to implement the Teesta Master Plan."

He also said, "BNP has always pursued politics of realizing the demands and rights of the people. The party has a clear plan to protect the country's rivers, agriculture and environment."

He expressed hope that through the implementation of the Teesta Master Plan, agricultural production will increase, flood control will be controlled, and overall economic development of the northern region will be possible.
