However, this fruit is currently being cultivated more in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. There is a huge demand for this fruit in Bangladesh and its cultivation is increasing day by day. Farmers here are succeeding in cultivating maltos. Maltos from this area are sweet and delicious. Fruiting starts at the age of two and a half years. And the full yield comes in three to four years. Malta worth 3 to 4 lakh taka can be obtained from one bigha of land annually.

Jibannagar Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Alamgir Hossain said, due to geographical reasons, there is a bright prospect of cultivating this nutritious foreign fruit, maltodextrin, in Jibannagar. Maltodextrin and oranges have been cultivated on 330 hectares of land in Jibannagar this season. Maltodextrin cultivation in the upazila will increase further in the future. In addition, if maltodextrin is produced on a large scale, import dependence will be reduced. In addition, it will be possible to meet the nutritional needs of the country.
