Published: 23 February 2026 : Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has given instructions to the field administration on three issues: keeping commodity prices under control, bringing electricity to normal levels, and maintaining law and order.

He gave this information to reporters after a meeting with all the district administrators at the divisional level at the Rangpur Circuit House on Monday (February 23) afternoon. Minister Asadul Habib Dulu said that in addition to the three issues mentioned above, the field administration also emphasized zero tolerance towards drugs and corruption. There is a shortage of officers and employees in many departments of the division. Compared to other departments, many projects have not been included in Rangpur division, but they have not yet been discussed. Discussions have also been held with the field administration on issues so that people can get services easily. He also said that in the past, there has been discrimination in Rangpur division, which has created anger among the people. However, this time, as a child of this region, I will try to ensure that there is no discrimination in the budget. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman came to Rangpur on the eve of the elections, he also spoke about the development potential of Rangpur. He said that this region will not be allowed to lag behind, including setting up factories for the development of Rangpur. Moreover, the Rangpur region is a food production region, the land here is cheap, labor is cheap, people are good, law and order is good. So, he expects that the Rangpur region will also develop equally like other regions. Regarding the Teesta River, the minister said, there will be no more isolated projects on the Teesta River. Teesta dredging or Teesta development will be done through coordinated initiatives. BNP is a people-friendly political party. Therefore, Teesta will be implemented in a short time, taking into account the demands of the people.

Present at the event were Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Shahidul Islam, Rangpur Range DIG Aminul Islam, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Majid Ali, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, Metropolitan BNP Convener Shamsuzzaman Samu, and administration and BNP leaders.
