Rangpur gets 4 important ministers

Four newly elected members of parliament from Rangpur division have taken their places as ministers in the new cabinet of the BNP government.
They took the oath at the swearing-in ceremony of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday (February 17) afternoon.
Those who took the oath from Rangpur division at the swearing-in ceremony were BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir from Thakurgaon district, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain from Dinajpur district, Asadul Habib Dulu from Lalmonir Hat district and Farhad Hossain Azad from Panchagarh district.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been appointed as the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives as a full-time minister. He was elected as a member of parliament from Thakurgaon 1 constituency. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir previously served as a State Minister.
Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain is the Minister of Women and Children Affairs. He is the Presidium Member of BNP. Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain was elected as a Member of Parliament from Dinajpur-6 constituency comprising Birampur, Nawabganj, Ghoraghat and Hakimpur Birampur.
Asadul Habib Dulu has been made the full minister of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. He is the BNP's Rangpur divisional organizing secretary. Asadul Habib Dulu previously served as the deputy minister of the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management in the BNP cabinet from 2001 to 2006. Farhad Hossain Azad has been appointed as the State Minister for Water Resources. He was elected as a member of parliament from the Panchagarh-2 constituency comprising Boda-Debiganj upazilas. This is the first time he has been elected as a member of parliament.
Note: Out of the 33 seats in Rangpur division, the BNP alliance won 15 seats. On the other hand, the 11-party Jamaat alliance won 18 seats.
