Entrepreneur quits job, earns lakhs of taka per month by selling pickles
Published: 16 April 2026 : Although she was once employed regularly after completing her studies, she chose a different path out of a desire to do something new in her life. Instead of chasing a job, she wanted to become an entrepreneur. She failed several times in the beginning. Later, she started making safe and healthy pickles. From there, Umm Taslima Aktari never looked back.
He has become self-reliant by capitalizing on his dreams and courage. His initiative has now taken the form of a factory called Premi Farm. The beef pickles, plum pickles, tamarind pickles, olive pickles, chalta pickles, tomato pickles, garlic pickles and other types of pickles made in that factory are being sold in different parts of the country. Umme Taslima Aktari is the wife of Md. Shamsuzzaman and mother of two children from Baksapara village, Kamarpukur union, Saidpur town, Nilphamari.
She was initially unsuccessful in various business ventures, including restaurants. Later, on the advice of her husband, she started making beef pickles at home in January 2025. Sales increased by promoting on social media Facebook. From there, noticing the demand of buyers, she opened a factory called Premi Farm at home to make several types of pickles, including beef pickles, olive pickles, chalta pickles, and garlic pickles. Now, 25 workers work in her factory. Many of them earn a salary of 10,000 taka, while others earn 15,000 taka.
Besides, the taste and quality of pickles made by Tashlima have increased the demand of the buyers. Cows are slaughtered in their own slaughter house after a health check by a veterinarian. Later, the meat is cut and roasted in a wood stove, and the beef pickle is made using pure mustard oil and necessary spices in a special process. Later, it is packaged and sold. On the other hand, olive pickles, chalta pickles, and garlic pickles are made in the same method in their factory. The quality of the pickles is safe, so they have received BCSIR lab approval.
Umme Taslima Aktari said, "My initial path was a bit difficult, but I was steadfast in my decision. Since my childhood, I wanted to do something myself, to provide employment to the people around me. I started making beef pickles in January 2025. Later, I worked there following all kinds of processes. I bought cows from the market myself, got them health checked by a veterinarian, slaughtered them, made pickles and started selling them. After a few days, the demand from buyers increased, and my scope started to expand. Later, I set up a factory called Premi Farm at home. There, all the facilities from slaughtering cows to making pickles are in place. The quality of my pickles were tested and the BCSIR lab approved me. Pickles are being made safely in my factory and sold in different parts of the country. In addition, 25 workers work here, and their families have become financially self-sufficient by working here, and many have taken care of their families. Today, I am doing well with my willpower, family support, and everything. Now I am selling pickles in different parts of the country, and I dream of selling them abroad as well. I am currently earning about one lakh rupees per month. In the future, if I can send them abroad, my sales will increase further.
Fatima Begum, a worker at the Premi Farm factory, said, "I am a poor person, my family was somehow running on my husband's income. We come here and work in the factory, and our family lives well with the monthly salary we receive."
Another worker, Mehedul Hasan, said, "Suddenly, I couldn't work normally after the road accident. Later, I started working at Taslima Apu's factory. My family is doing well by working here. The quality of everything in our factory is good, we do everything in a clean manner, according to the tests."
In this regard, Saidpur Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Nur Nazar Shahazadi said, "We do various kinds of work so that women can move forward. When I came to know about this, I will try to find out how to help her and do that."
