Five projects worth Tk 483.43 crore approved


Dhaka, April 6, 2026: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) today approved five development projects at a total cost of Tk 483.43 crore.

Of the total cost, Tk 390.84 crore will be provided by the government and the remaining Tk 92.59 crore will come from project loans or grants.

The approval was given at the ninth meeting of ECNEC for the 2025-26 fiscal year and the first meeting of the current government. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presided over the meeting held at the conference room of the Cabinet Division in the capital.

The five projects approved today are:

The cost of the 'General Social Infrastructure Development Project-2 (GSIDP-2)' project, managed by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), has been increased to Tk 1,450 crore and its work is scheduled to be completed by June 2027.

On the other hand, the total cost of the 'Char Development and Settlement Project-4 (CDSP-4)' project has been reduced to Tk 30.7186 crore.

The cost of the 'IT Training and Incubation Center' project has been increased by Tk 228.4454 crore to a total of Tk 533.5492 crore, and the project period has been extended until June 2026.

The cost of the project to modernize diagnostic imaging facilities in eight divisional medical college hospitals of the country has been increased to Tk 1,213.7050 crore and its period has been extended until June 2028.

In addition, the cost of the 'Gopalganj Dental College and Hospital Establishment (Second Revised)' project has been increased by Tk 26.49 crore to a total of Tk 139.3093 crore, and the target of completing the project by June 2026 has been set.
