51 BGB distributes food and educational materials to students

Published: 01 May 2026 : Along with the responsibility of protecting the border, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been playing a commendable role in humanitarian activities. In continuation of this, Rangpur Battalion (51 BGB) distributed food items and educational materials among the students of orphanages in the border area.

On Friday (May 1) morning, Rangpur Battalion (51 BGB) organized a drive to provide food and necessary educational materials to more than fifty orphaned students in Chilahati, Ketkibari and Kaliganj BOP areas. The students were seen with joy and excitement.

The chief guest at the event was Lt. Col. Naziur Rahman, commander of Rangpur Battalion 51 BGB.

At this time, madrasa student Habibur Rahman Habib said, "The gifts given to us by the BGB will be very useful for our studies."

Another student, Abdur Rahman, said, "My family is struggling to meet the expenses of my father's family. These food gifts and study materials given by the BGB sirs will be very useful for our future studies. We want the sirs to regularly help orphaned and poor students like us so that we can study properly."

Lt. Col. Naziur Rahman said, "As important as the country's borders are, the welfare of the people in the border areas is equally important to the BGB. It is our responsibility to be by their side in their happiness and sorrow. Such humanitarian activities will continue in the future as well." He further said that BGB is regularly taking such initiatives to spread education in the border areas and increase students' interest in studies. He mentioned that it is an important social responsibility to stand by and help orphans and underprivileged students in particular. He also expressed hope that such activities will play a positive role in increasing children's attendance at school and interest in education.

Other BGB officials, local dignitaries, teachers, students, guardians, and journalists from print and electronic media were present at the event.

It is worth noting that, in addition to border security, the BGB has been regularly conducting various public welfare activities to improve the quality of life of people living in various border areas of the country, assist orphans and underprivileged students, and increase social awareness.
